Bio / History

I grew up in Virginia in a carefree, happy childhood.  This was not to last, however.  After moving to outer Los Angeles during high school, hard times hit;  and continued through college.   After singing and playing in a few garage bands, I hung the harder rock up and became introspective.   At the end of high school, I began writing-- not by trying to; but by music and lyrics that just came flowing out of me; especially due to my prior extreme shy experiences with girls who waited .. and waited .. and waited for me simply blowing me away with signs and sensitivety....
By the late 80's, as one studio owner said (in 1999), "You have a catalog of songs".   He compared me to the Moody Blues, and Lindsey Buckingham.

In the 1990's, for 11 years; I was a paid choir director and singer for the Catholic Church (for the youth mass). (I soloed there for 12 years for almost 300 people per week.)

After being choir director for 11 years; I sang for a fashion show, and in a musical at a convention in Pasadena. In the more distant past I've also sung for weddings, and the way back high school garage bands. (While choir director I had changed the words to pop songs to fit the Mass messages.)

More lately, a sixteen year old girl (who mostly listens to KIIS FM 102.7) -during and after a couple good listens- compared me to Kevin Lyttle, on a few occasions.

Also, most lately; I've received tons of VERY nice compliments on my singing (after karaoke primarily);   including from the guitarist from Sweet! (The group Sweet had 7 Top Ten hits in the 70's.)  "You really do have a good voice!"     Many thanks also to the good people of St. Anne's Church for being so estatic and offering to pay money for my (nonexistent at the time) "album" whenever I soloed there a couple years ago.

Airplay

The only radio station I've ever submitted to is WQRZ in Mississippi.

All 13 songs are currently being played (since August, 2003).
I've received exactly 240 plays in about 390 hours on Monday nights there!

I was added to weekends format late that year and was then added to Friday nights (and Monday mornings).   Last year, I learned that on weekdays  I'm also played
as a promotion to attract more listeners to Monday nights;
now.... :   more than ANY OTHER Monday night artist.
(Now the number 1 promo out of 49 other Monday night artists!)

I was also spotlighted in an hour and 15 minute live interview- one of the only
artist interviews that was done live in that station's history.

- All this not shabby- for that being the only station that I've ever submitted to! ! -

In all of 2004,
my album was the #2 most played album on the station (out of over 900 albums).

And that includes more than all the biggest selling albums of the Beatles, the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and all the superstars' Greatest Hits LPs!
